Alluri Sitharama Raju

Alluri Sitharama Raju district in Andhra Pradesh was formed on 4 April 2022 from parts of the old Visakhapatnam and East Godavari districts. Its headquarters is Paderu.

How the district was formed

Notification No. 176 of the Revenue Department, dated 2 April 2022, formed the district.1 The notification lists 22 mandals (sub-districts).1 They are in two revenue divisions (groups of mandals): Paderu and Rampachodavaram.1

Later changes

On 31 December 2025 twelve of its mandals became the new Polavaram district.2 The district retained 11 mandals, all in one division with its headquarters at Paderu.3
