Polavaram

Polavaram district in Andhra Pradesh was formed on 31 December 2025 from 12 mandals of Alluri Sitharama Raju district. Its headquarters is Rampachodavaram.

How the district was formed

Notification No. 517 of the Revenue Department, dated 30 December 2025, formed the district.1 Its 12 mandals (sub-districts) form two revenue divisions (groups of mandals): Rampachodavaram and Chinturu.1 The two districts created that day brought Andhra Pradesh’s total to 28 districts, up from 26.213
