The Imperial Gazetteer of 1909 names the Laknavaram among the minor streams of Warangal district.12 It lists the Laknavaram tank second, after Pakhal, among the district’s chief tanks, some of which were then in disrepair.12 The other large tanks it names are those of Ramappa, Ghanpur, Katachpur, Atmakur, Dharmasagar and Yelgargu.2 P. V. Parabrahma Sastry counts the Laknavaram tank among the big tanks of the Kakatiya period.3 See the Laknavaram lake.
